Neighborhood Stewardship Event

The Arnold Creek Neighborhood Association and the Westside Watershed Resource Center held a successful creekside stewardship event along a small tributary to Arnold Creek on October 18, 2025. During a 3 hour morning work party, 13 volunteers cleared ivy from 11 trees and removed ivy, holly and laurel from 3000 sq. ft. of ground. Two truckloads of invasive plants were hauled away for composting. Volunteers also spread bark chips on the entry path to the area. Now that it is more accessible, neighbors can enjoy a walk among the native Cascade Oregon Grapes and swordferns growing along the creek. To access the area, enter the property on the trail just east of 1851 SW Palatine St. (near SW 16th Dr.) Another work party is planned for next spring, so keep an eye out for our newsletter if you’d like to get involved!
