2026 ACNA Neighborhood Walk on the HI-LO Trail in Marshall Park.

ACNA’s annual walk took place on July 14th, 2026. The Marshall Park trail system was the focus. After gathering on 11th Drive and Arnold, our intrepid hikers headed up the hill gathering more walkers along the way. They followed the SW Trails #6 detour into Marshall Park which led to the play and picnic area where cold drinks and delicious treats from Barbur Foods awaited. Don Baack from SW Trails gave a presentation (with a big map – see image above) showing the soon-to-be-opened new trail which will replace the detour. It will be part of the Hillsdale to Lake Oswego (HI-LO) Trail.
Andy Robbins, ACNA Transportation Chair, gave out Vision Zero “20 is Plenty” signs. We were happy that Mike Charles, the president of Marshall Park NA was able to join us, and we were pleased to welcome a contingent from Woodlee Heights and from Arnold Woods subdivisions. Many thanks to Nancy Mattson for all the planning that went into making this a successful event; over thirty neighbors gathered on this pleasant summer evening for a walk in the park with friends and neighbors, a great turnout. ACNA’s annual walk takes place every second Tuesday in July. All are invited to join the walk and/or the socializing.
The walk was about 2 miles roundtrip. We walked on the “detour” shown as a solid green line on the map. The proposed new trail is shown as a dashed purple line. More detail can be viewed on this map.
